In our mind single speed cross is one of the greatest cycling disciplines of all time. Not having to worry about making gear changes or finicky shifting due to mud allows you to focus your thoughts on the trail ahead. Our Crusade SS is a purebred race bike designed for the singlespeed purist that doesn't want to compromise. With race geometry and a durable, lightweight Columbus Life tubeset, the Crusade is meant to compete at all levels of racing. Aside from the obvious, there are the little touches that make this bike truly unique, starting with our choice in tubing. Columbus has one of the longest traditions of producing race pedigree tubing which is why we chose Life tubing. This tubeset yields great strength to weight ratio which makes it perfect for racing as well as daily commuting and training. Our Claymore Cross Fork features Columbus SLX steel and compliments the frame perfectly by keeping it light like a carbon fork but giving you the feel that you love in a steel fork. We also made the move to routing full length brake cable housing inside the top tube for predictable brake performance no matter the conditions. We have also gone as far as to center the routing in the toptube so you can run your rear brake lever on either side of your handlebar while maintaining the cleanest routing possible. To finish off the brake outfit we did our very own housing stop on the seat stays to add a very clean look and detail that you won’t find on other frames. Next, we went all out and opened our own mold to bring you a one of a kind dropout. Forged with stainless steel, our dropouts come with built in tensioners to give you complete control for setting up your rear wheel and guarantee no wheel slippage during a race. Along with hidden fender mounts on the dropouts this could very well be your year-round bike. Finally, to protect the tubing from corrosion, before paint the bare frame is finished with a phosphate coating sealing it from all the mud, dust, grit and grime you ride through.
